April Vacation

Jason spent a few days in the South last weekend continuing the interview process. Meanwhile, I had my Spring Break. I spent some of it organizing and beginning the process of packing, some looking for my own jobs in the South, but most of it relaxing and hanging out with friends. We're still uncertain with our future plans as far a where we'll be, but we'll keep you posted when we know. It has been a time the Lord is using to teach us patience and trust in Him.
Adam and Jessica are some of our Southern friends we've been blessed to get to know. We went out to a new favorite breakfast spot in Gloucester one morning together, then a walk by the beach. (We will really miss the beauty of the New England shore!)

Boston Project

Today I went with our Youth Group to Dorchester, MA for a service day with the Boston Project http://tbpm.org/. My group of girls were able to go to a sweet elderly couples' home and help them get their garden ready for the season by weeding and planting a cherry tree and shrubs. It was such a sweet time to serve the Body of Christ together. We really saw the Lord's perfect timing in that while we were taking our lunch break, the man's cherry tree and shrubs were delivered. He kept saying what a blessing this was since he wasn't going to be able to plant them himself. He just was so thrilled of the Lord's timing. We began to really crave cherries :).

Office Party

Thursday night was the first night The Office returned to TV in a long time. So, we thought it reason to celebrate! Pictured are the characters: Dwight and Angela (Adam and Jessica); Andy and Jan (Jason and Me); Jim and Karen (Mark and Kimberly); and Drew (Andy) and Pam (Jason W. and Megan). Sorry for the sideways pictures--I still have to figure all of this out.

G'mommy Visits

Last week Grandmommy came up from Florida for my cousin's play. She came a few days early to stay with us. We got to visit Rockport (as pictured), and enjoyed the rain together. Dellynne's play was wonderful--we're so proud! Happy B'day Dellynne!

Friends and Family Visit Boston

Our first guests were Stephen and Elena while they were still dating (Sept. 2005).

Next, my mom came, but no pictures were on my computer to share :(. Then, we had guests for New Years Eve (2005): Stephen and Elena (still just dating) and Jason L.

Then, Grandmommy came for an extended weekend visit to see us and Dellynne (January 2006).

Then, Kelli Ziemer came over St. Patrick's Day weekend (2006). We got to tour the city and the Northshore and even dine in Cheers (but nobody knew our name).

Then, Labor Day weekend 2006: Mark Spivey, Ashley Hood, and Kim Griffin (now McGinn) came for the weekend. We toured the city, went apple picking, and saw the RED SOX play against the Blue Jays! Thanks Mark!


Then, Mom AND Dad came for a visit (October 2006)--more apple picking, a Duck Tour of the city, a picnic on the beautiful Northshore...


Next, New Year's Eve 2006 rolled around. This time, we had a crowd: Jason, Stephen and Elena (now married), Kelli, Rob (already lived here), Dave, Brien, and Dellynne (came back early for the party). We loved playing in the snow in Newburyport, fine dining dressed in semiformals, dancing downtown, and just hanging out together in our 1 bedroom apartment. We feel so blessed to have these friends!




Then, during my February vacation (2007) from school, Delta and Bryce flew up to visit and play in the snow together. It was such a special time. We got to be a part of Bryce seeing and playing in the snow for the first time!


Later in the spring, Elizabeth came to visit during her spring break (March 2007). I loved giving her the tour and just catching up.

Then, Fredrick (Bud) and Leslie came to see us for a long weekend. Bud and Jason and Leslie all went to Covenant College together. While they were here we did more touring of downtown, seeing sights of the Northshore and had lots of good food and laughs together.



Then, Mom came back for a memorable trip in April 2007. Grandmommy and Aunt Dellynne were up here as well. We had a girly weekend and ended it with Mom, G'mommy, Jason and I going to RED SOX vs. Braves! Ask my mom about her amazing story of how she got home from that adventure!


Finally, we can depend on Jason Luther to keep the tradition alive for New Year's (2007). We couldn't have all of our friends back for New Year's this year, but he still came for the celebration--this time in Rockport, MA. He and Jason kept the football watching tradition alive with all of the New Year's bowl games.

So, if you want to come join the fun...we still have four months left! We truly have been blessed with sweet friends and family to come visit and be a part of our lives in the Northeast!

Playing Chef- Together

We all hope to be able to marry someone we can truly be ourselves with. I'm so blessed to have done this. Tonight, Jason and I went shopping and Jason picked out something special for a good dinner at home--filet mignon. As we were cooking together (which rarely occurs) we dreamed up our own cooking show. We thought we'd be able to really relate to the majority of the people who watched, because how many people are truly confident in their cooking? So, I get to read through the precise measurements with corny comments (like delish!) while Jason makes the sound effects (Oh, Ah, Blah, etc). In the end we toasted to the make-believe film crew and said isn't it always true that the meal takes twice as long to make as it does to eat. Regardless, it was a lovely dinner with lots of love and lots of fun. You should all try it sometime! DELISH!

Bible and Broom Hockey

As many of you know, I've been leading a small group of high school girls and working alongside of our youth group at church. It has been such a blessing to be a part of this crucial time in a person's life as they search for identity and begin to realize the truth of a relationship with God. This semester we are studying through Ephesians and I am truly being blessed by the study and we've only just begun. We're learning to recognize how richly blessed we are in Christ and that we've been given everything anyone on this earth spends their lives searching for: hope, inheritance, and power! (Ephesians 1:18-21) I encourage all of you to read through Ephesians 1 and recognize the truth of your identity promised and given in Christ.
Well, part of the perks of working with senior high youth are these wonderful activities I would never choose to do on my own. (Some of which I'd never heard of or haven't done in years). Last night, I went to the church and played dodge ball with everyone (if only my students could see this!), and from there we went to an ice hockey rink where we played Broom Hockey! Can you believe this is a real sport?? You get a broom, dress in lots of layers, run on ice in your sneakers, and try to hit a ball in the goal. I certainly had no skill in this area, but everyone was very supportive in educating a southern girl how to run on ice!
